paul_hot_tub

Paul decided to take the plunge (pun intended!) and build his own hot tub, and I’m excited to share his progress in this blog post.

We opted for one of our standard designs from the buildahottub.com store – these are a great way to save money and still get a fantastic hot tub, especially if you’re handy and want to customize it a bit. You can find links to all the standard designs here

DIY Hot Tub / Swim Spa Case Study – Darren, AZ, USA

swim_spa_build

Darren got in touch with me April 2024 because like most of my customers, he had been quoted an astronomical amount of money to build a hot tub come swim spa.

The conversation always goes the same way “I spoke to several pool builders and the quotes that I got were outrageous” he began. “I think I can do this myself with your help” – well Darren you have come to the right place I replied.

From there, we had a good chat about the specification and features he was looking for and then it was time for me to get started on the initial design renders.

Infinity Hot Tub with Swim Jet Takes Shape in Virginia

Have you ever dreamt of soaking in a luxurious hot tub while enjoying a mesmerizing infinity edge that blends seamlessly with the horizon? Well, Doug from Virginia is making that dream a reality by building his very own custom infinity hot tub complete with a built-in swim jet!

Doug got in touch like many of my customers because he knew what he wanted to build but just was not 100% sure on how to do it. He also didn’t want to pay the crazy costs that the pool builders charge for this kind of work.

So, Doug hired me to create a custom design for him. Once complete, I also supplied Doug all of the parts that he needs for the Hot Tub too.

This article / case study is going to follow his progress from start to finish and dives into the initial stages of Doug’s project, and documented on my Buildahottub YouTube channel too.

Buckle up as we explore the intricacies of crafting this backyard oasis.

DIY Pool and Hot Tub – Cameroon, Africa

I love the fact that I can help people literally all over the world with their hot tubs and plunge pools. It really doesn’t matter where you are located. I’ve helped customers in South Africa before, but if my memory serves me correctly, I believe this is the first one that I am helping in Central Africa – Cameroon to be exact.

DIY Dipping Pool – Case Study, Roger, Dominican Republic

DIY Dipping Pool

DIY Dipping Pool – yes please!
What I love about what I do is the variety of people, countries and projects that I get to deal with.
Some projects I have a huge amount of involvement in. Some, like this one, I have some correspondence, supply some parts and then out of the blue, I get a wonderful email from Roger with a whole bunch of pictures of his build which is now complete.
This variety makes everyday different which I love!
In this post, I am going to explain all the stages that Roger went through when he was building his DIY dipping pool in his back yard in the Dominican Republic.

DIY Infinity Hot Tub – From Concept to Reality

DIY Infinity Hot Tub

DIY Infinity Hot Tub – this was what Brian wanted when he got in touch with me back in April of 2022. Unlike most clients that make contact as they dont want to pay the exorbitant prices that the spa and pool builders choose, Brian has somewhat of another problem.

Where he wanted to build his infinity hot tub at his new home that was under construction in the Bahamas – there simply were no pool or spa builders. Therefore, Brian wanted to use his existing contractors to do the work.

The other problem, was that they have never built one before. This is exactly what I do, so was more than happy to start initial dialogue with Brian for how I could help him and the team.

DIY Hot Tub – Case Study, Jeff from GA, USA

As a refreshing change, this article has actually been written by Jeff from Georgia, USA – not me! Jeff has very kindly put together some words and sent some amazing photographs of his DIY build.

Like pretty much everyone, he went down the DIY route to save the cost of a pool or spa builder. In his pursuit to get the hot tub come plunge pool he was looking for – he found me and my website.

Armed with plenty of information and purchasing the parts from me too – Jeff began his DIY Hot tub journey.

At this point, I would like to hand over to Jeff and his narrative.

Adding a Hot Tub to a Pool – Case Study – Scott, AZ, USA

Add Hot Tub To Pool

Scott from Arizona, USA first got in touch with me back in May of 2022. He was looking to add a hot tub to his pool. Having put the feelers out to see how much it would cost to get a builder to do it – Scott decided that it was something that he felt with my advice and guidance, he could do himself. It was going to be a fun project for him and his son but most importantly, he would save a whole bunch of money in the process.

Fast forward to January 2023 and Scott was almost ready to start. He hired me to design a custom layout for his hot tub so that it could make use of the pool kit from his existing swimming pool in terms of heating and filtration but also, it would have separately controlled jets.

Scott, Texas USA – Case Study

Scott Texas

Scott, a passionate DIY enthusiast and resident of Texas, had a dream – to create his own custom hot tub right in his backyard. With a strong background in construction and an eagerness to take on new challenges, Scott was determined to turn this dream into a reality. However, he knew that the success of this project depended on more than just his building skills. He needed the expertise of a hot tub design consultant (me!) to guide him through the complex plumbing and parts selection process.
