Balboa Spa Touch Mini – Product Review

Spa Touch Mini

Earlier this year, I posted a short video giving a first-look review of the new Balboa Spa Touch Mini, but recently, I had the chance to experience the full production model at the Piscina & Wellness Barcelona Exhibition.

The Balboa Water Group was showcasing their products, and I had the pleasure of talking with one of their representatives, Jed, who even gave me a walk-through of the Spa Touch Mini.

So, let’s dive into whether the Spa touch mini is worth it.

Jed’s Overview of the Spa Touch Mini

Let’s start with Jed’s insights. According to him, the Spa Touch Mini is a compact, sleek control panel designed not only to look great but also to be versatile in its installation. Unlike traditional controls, you can place the Spa Touch Mini in more creative locations, including corners, giving you more flexibility in your design.

The Spa Touch Mini builds on the design of the Spa Touch 4 but with some key improvements. The touchscreen has been enhanced for a better user experience, and the control options have been significantly refined. It’s clear that Balboa put a lot of thought into improving both the functionality and the aesthetics of this new model.

My Thoughts on the Spa Touch Mini

Now, here’s the thing: I’m a fan of the Spa Touch Mini. In fact, I’m considering getting one for my own hot tub. The compact design and versatility in placement really caught my attention because it opens up a lot of possibilities for different types of tubs and setups. You’re no longer confined to placing the control in one specific spot; instead, you can get creative with it, making it a great fit for DIY projects.

From an aesthetic perspective, the Spa Touch Mini enhances the overall look of your hot tub. It adds a modern, sophisticated touch, allowing the keypad to be a feature rather than something you hide away.

Compatibility: A Major Plus

One of the biggest wins for me is the compatibility. Balboa really nailed this aspect. The Spa Touch Mini is compatible with the entire BP range of control systems. You can swap out any TP topside controls for the Spa Touch Mini, or even use it alongside your existing setup by plugging it into another input. This gives you an additional controller without any complex installation requirements.

Final Thoughts

To sum it up, the Balboa Spa Touch Mini has a lot going for it. Its compact size, improved functionality, and broad compatibility make it a solid choice for anyone looking to upgrade their hot tub’s control system.

Whether you’re building a new tub or upgrading an existing one, the Spa Touch Mini is definitely a product worth considering. If you’re out in the market for one, you can check them out here.
